The Moog Matriarch is a patchable 4-note paraphonic analog synthesizer that provides musicians and sound designers with a versatile instrument for creative expression. Designed by Moog as the pinnacle of their semi-modular line, the Matriarch features four analog oscillators, stereo ladder filters based on Bob Moog's original circuits and an expressive 49-note keyboard with patchable velocity and aftertouch. While the Matriarch can be played right out of the box, its 90 modular patch points provide endless opportunities for shaping rich, multidimensional sounds. The Matriarch also includes an intuitive 256-step sequencer, arpeggiator and stereo analog delay for rhythmic and ambient textures.
Four Oscillators Open a World of Harmonic Possibilities With four analog oscillators, the Matriarch provides a wide range of harmonic textures from monophonic bass to paraphonic plucks. The oscillators can be stacked for a huge mono synth sound or tuned separately for rich chords and intervals. Create evolving patches by modulating the waveform, or frequency of each oscillator independently.
Vintage-Inspired Filters Shape Your Sound Based on Bob Moog's original ladder filter designs, the Matriarch's stereo filters are essential for shaping its analog sounds. The filters can function as a dual-mono or stereo pair, and feature controls for cutoff frequency, resonance and distortion. With patching, you can route each of the four oscillators through the filters separately or blend them together for a huge stereo image.
