To enhance the shell and differentiate it from the original TrueCast snare, DW opted for steel for the hoops, lugs, and throw-off. The True-Cast steel hoops are both lightweight and robust, improving resonance and sensitivity. The Mini-Turret lugs, previously solid brass, are now made of steel, as is the MAG throw-off, ensuring a crisp snare response. Even the tension rods have been replaced with steel ones.
